Built to Spill hails from the unlikely town of Boise, Idaho. In the 1990s the indie rockers found the middle ground between postmodern, pavement-style pop and the loose, spacious jamming of Neil Young. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Doug Martsch is at the core of the band. Band members Brett Nelson (bass), Scott Plouf (drums) Jim Roth (guitar) and Brett Netson (guitar) have all been musicians for two decades.
