The Gand Band’s featured guests for this show include two amazing artists from San Diego who have united to perform a powerhouse show. 21-year old guitarist Anthony Cullins, who was just nominated for a San Diego Music Award (and won last year) will be joined by veteran soul singer/songwriter Earl Thomas. Their core band will be joined by Joan and Gary Gand for a special, one night only performance!
Soul singer/songwriter Earl Thomas has two Grammy nominations, and four San Diego Music Awards. His songs have also been covered by Sir Tom Jones, Will Wilde, and Shemekia Copeland. His music has been featured in feature films such as ’40 Shades of Blue’ and ‘In The Mix’ and television shows like ER and the Netflix original ‘Hacks.’
His highlights have included performing on stage with BB King and Gladys Knight at Montreux Jazz Festival, performing at London’s legendary Ronnie Scott’s, opening shows for BB King, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and his musical idol Ike Turner. Performing over 200 shows a year he still holds down a 10-year residency at San Francisco’s Biscuit & Blues
Anthony Cullins aka “The Fallbrook Kid,” a young musical prodigy whose guitar playing ability is years beyond his age. Anthony’s musical influences include R&B, funk, soul, rock, jazz, and blues prominently displayed in his eclectic improvisational style he calls “psychedelic soul music”, ranging from Eddie Hazel and Jeff Beck to George Benson and Eric Johnson with dozens of influences in between. Winner of the CV Independent’s Best Local Band for FOUR years running, this dynamic husband and wife team bring their Chicago sound to the desert.
Veteran bluesman Gary Gand handles the six strings, driving the band, channeling a bit of Freddie King, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck rolled into one. Keyboardist Joan Gand grooves on classic Hammond B-3 style organ and blues piano with inspiration from Booker T, Ray Charles, and Otis Spann.
Throughout this series of monthly concerts, special guests will join the Gand Band including top notch performers from both Chicago and San Diego.
The Gand Band appears in the film,”My Name is Lopez” – a documentary about 60s celebrity vocalist/actor Trini Lopez. Trini was a frequent guest performer until his death in 2020.

Food is not served in the Cascade Lounge but can be brought in from any of the casino restaurants. We do have a full bar with no drink minimums.
