SUMMARY:Modernism Week – October
DESCRIPTION:Modernism Week – October will take place October 13-16\, 2022. While smaller in scope than the 11-day festival held annually each February\, the October event offers more than 50 events during 4-days\, including several free and low-cost programs. A hallmark of Modernism Week events are the inspirational and educational tours of neighborhoods\, significant buildings\, and residences. Tours this year include the Modernism Week Featured Home Tour: Hi-Sun (designed by Charles Du Bois and built by the Alexander Construction Company in 1963)\, the House of Tomorrow Home Tour (located in the historic Vista Las Palmas neighborhood\, this extraordinary home was designed in 1960 by architect William Krisel for Helene and Robert Alexander)\, and Modernism Week’s signature Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tour. Other events include the Palm Springs Modernism Show\, architectural walking and biking tours\, tours of the historic Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands\, a classic car show\, parties\, and a special series of compelling and informative talks.
