Jamey’s guitar playing can also be heard on the soundtracks for Netflix\, TBS\, and Comedy Central shows\, including Netflix’s original series Motown Magic\, where Jamey had the opportunity to record on songs performed by Smokey Robinson and Trombone Shorty. Jamey is also featured backing up Woody Harrelson on a cover of Elvis’ “Burning Love” from the Zombieland: Double Tap soundtrack. \n \nAn avid educator\, Jamey is an adjunct professor of commercial guitar at the Herb Alpert Music Center at Los Angeles City College\, teaches private lessons regularly\, and has appeared in dozens of lesson videos on the popular Pickup Music website. DESCRIPTION:The Gand Band Concert Series\n\n\nThe Gand Band’s featured guests for this show include two amazing artists from San Diego who have united to perform a powerhouse show. 21-year old guitarist Anthony Cullins\, who was just nominated for a San Diego Music Award (and won last year) will be joined by veteran soul singer/songwriter Earl Thomas. Their core band will be joined by Joan and Gary Gand for a special\, one night only performance!   \n \nSoul singer/songwriter Earl Thomas has two Grammy nominations\, and four San Diego Music Awards. His songs have also been covered by Sir Tom Jones\, Will Wilde\, and Shemekia Copeland. His music has been featured in feature films such as ’40 Shades of Blue’ and ‘In The Mix’ and television shows like ER and the Netflix original ‘Hacks.’ \nHis highlights have included performing on stage with BB King and Gladys Knight at Montreux Jazz Festival\, performing at London’s legendary Ronnie Scott’s\, opening shows for BB King\, Etta James\, Aretha Franklin and his musical idol Ike Turner. Performing over 200 shows a year he still holds down a 10-year residency at San Francisco’s Biscuit & Blues \n \nAnthony Cullins aka “The Fallbrook Kid\,” a young musical prodigy whose guitar playing ability is years beyond his age. Anthony’s musical influences include R&B\, funk\, soul\, rock\, jazz\, and blues prominently displayed in his eclectic improvisational style he calls “psychedelic soul music”\, ranging from Eddie Hazel and Jeff Beck to George Benson and Eric Johnson with dozens of influences in between. Anthony recently turned 22 years of age and is currently working on two studio albums\, a live record\, and hitting the road.  ” … he further dazzled my senses with the playing maturity of someone way beyond his years\, demonstrating a total command of the fretboard with fierce string bends\, wicked vibrato\, and a lick vocabulary akin to a guitarist that’s been at it for decades.” – Wayne Riker\, San Diego Troubadour \n \n \nWinner of the CV Independent’s Best Local Band for FOUR years running\, this dynamic husband and wife team bring their Chicago sound to the desert. \nVeteran bluesman Gary Gand handles the six strings\, driving the band\, channeling a bit of Freddie King\, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck rolled into one. Keyboardist Joan Gand grooves on classic Hammond B-3 style organ and blues piano with inspiration from Booker T\, Ray Charles\, and Otis Spann. \nThroughout this series of monthly concerts\, special guests will join the Gand Band including top notch performers from both Chicago and San Diego. \nThe Gand Band appears in the film\,”My Name is Lopez” – a documentary about 60s celebrity vocalist/actor Trini Lopez.
