DESCRIPTION:CREATE Center for the Arts is pleased to present: The Blind Pig Experience. \nDust off your zoot suits and flapper dresses and get ready for an epic speakeasy experience and a fundraiser for CREATE Center for the Arts. Take a step back in time as the CREATE studios are transformed into unique clubs with food\, drinks\, gaming and fun. Our team of creatives has gone over the top to bring you an amazing night celebrating our work to CREATE Community Enrichment Through the Arts. \nThe Unveiling of the 139 Club Walls: \nIn Palm Spring in the 1930s\, a small unassuming residential building held a hidden world behind its walls. Inside\, a rambunctious group of desert locals and visiting celebrities came together to game and gamble in secret. \nAs the club’s notoriety grew\, a tradition began that both locals and the stars took part in. The plain plywood walls inside the 139 Club started to come alive with the signatures\, comics\, and words of its many patrons. \nWhile the original building that housed the 139 Club was torn down in 1985\, the wall panels were preserved\, holding on to the history of the desert. Signatures from Humphrey Bogart\, Rita Hayworth\, Chico Marx and many more familiar names are still scrawled on the plywood. These signatures and the many sketches\, song lyrics\, and sign offs written alongside them will be unveiled once again to visitors and locals at our Blind Pig Experience. \nWe hope to see you there.

DESCRIPTION:Step back in time to the famous Chi-Chi club – This is an encore performance after a sold out 9 day run for Modernism Week.\n\n\nPS UNDERGROUND returns with an encore engagement of “A Night at the Chi-Chi” after a 9 day sold out run during Modernism Week.  It is an homage to the fabled midcentury Chi-Chi Club. Guests will enjoy a specially created four-course dining adventure. Midcentury Palm Springs boasted a variety of elegant supper clubs\, including the Racquet Club\, the Doll’s House\, Ruby’s Dunes and the Purple Room\, but the infamous Chi-Chi Club outshone them all. Its Blue Room seated 250 for dinner and the larger Starlight Ballroom accommodated up to 750. Opening in 1947 with Desi Arnaz and his 14-piece orchestra headlining\, the Starlight Room quickly became the place to perform and be seen.\n \n \n \nOn this special occasion\, you will step back in time and get a glimpse of the stars who graced its stage\, including tributes to Peggy Lee\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Hoagy Carmichael\, Frank Sinatra\, Lena Horne and Louis Armstrong.\n \n \n \nThe menu will unfold as the evening progresses. PS UNDERGROUND’S renowned chef\, Dave Horgen has been tantalizing diners in the desert for years with his unique approach to food. The menu is kept secret\, which adds to the mystique\, but Chef Dave will be happy to accommodate dietary restrictions with advanced notice. This dining adventure includes a four-course dinner\, a spectacular show\, free flowing cocktails\, beer\, and wine. \nDUE TO THE COMMUNAL NATURE OF OUR EVENTS ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AND BE ABLE TO PROVIDE VERIFIABLE PROOF PRIOR TO VENUE ENTRY.
