Yes, and… Let’s Improvise!

In this fun, immersive weeklong improvisational acting workshop, students will learn both short form games like those seen on the tv show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and long form improvisational acting techniques. We will culminate in an optional live interactive performance where we take suggestions from the audience and create scenes on the spot. Designed for both experienced and beginning actors and/or improvisers, this light-hearted workshop will heighten your awareness of yourself, your classmates, and increase your spontaneity. Other techniques like listening, using your imagination, finding humor, sharing focus, collaborating, embracing imperfection, and taking risks beyond your comfort zone can be applied to your life. Spend a week at the stunning Idyllwild Arts campus and escape adulting responsibilities to create our own improvised world of “Yes, and…” where we can create lasting memories and, possibly, friendships.
